I'm SO EXCITED to announce the formation of the /rhythmos duo, and our first call for scores. Zach Koors and I are collecting submissions starting today, and will do so until Nov. 15th. Composer types, I truly want to hear your work! Here's the official call and rules:
/rhythmos is seeking a new work for piano and percussion to be played at its inaugural spring concert in Columbus, OH. The winning piece will be performed at Wild Goose Creative along with other contemporary works. /rhythmos was formed in the summer of 2016 by the Columbus-based composers and instrumentalists Zach Koors and John Huenemann. More info can be found at http://koorsmusic.weebly.com/ and www.johnhuenemann.com.
Works must be written for piano and percussion duo.
Piano parts may not include inner-piano techniques, but all three pedals are available.
Due to the available space and venue, only acoustic works will be considered at this time.
Percussion part will be performed by 1 player with any combination or subset of the following: glockenspiel, kick bass drum, set of 5 toms, 13” steel snare drum, 14” maple snare drum, 12” tambourine, 15” frame drum, 10” splash cymbal, 14” sizzle cymbal, 18” thin crash, 21” ride cymbal, cowbell
